Greetings Members and Friends,
We are very proud to present to you the 2021 Bedford County Chamber of Commerce Community Profile and Membership Directory, published by our friends at Centre Publications. We hope you enjoy this valuable resource packed with beautiful photographs, informative articles and extensive graphics and statistics that illustrate all that the Bedford County region has to offer, while showcasing the excellence of our membership and region.
Perhaps more than ever, we are grateful for our incredible business community and its citizens, who look out for one another through the toughest of times. The Chamber looks to build on a challenging but inspiring year, defined by hardship and loss, but also marked by cooperation and hope. The Silver Lining Drive-In is just one example of what can happen when we work together, and our business community beamed during the Holiday Nights of Lights, a welcome contrast to a dark and difficult time.
We thank you: our members, friends, community partners and region at large, knowing that everything we accomplish is through your enthusiastic support and partnership.
Our membership continues to grow, with well over 600 member businesses and organizations, representing tens of thousands of employees, who individually and collectively enjoy the benefits of being part of the Chamber. We encourage our members and everyone in the community to support one another and our economy by shopping and doing business locally whenever possible. The Chamber is excited to continue offering our outstanding menu of events, including opportunities for exposure, education, networking, and much more.
We extend a special “thank you” to Centre Publications for their outstanding work in creating this signature publication, and to all who have advertised in this Directory. The information is also available online through the Chamber website, which connects readers to an innovative and impressive digital experience, highlighting our advertisers.
Please use this Directory frequently to make connections and do business within our region.
We invite you to explore all the offerings of the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce and our ongoing efforts to serve you as a CATALYST for business growth, a CONVENER of leaders and influencers and a CHAMPION for strong communities.
Wishing you good health, happiness and prosperity in the year ahead!
Sincerely yours,
Kellie Goodman Shaffer

Bedford County Chamber Foundation
Celebrates Birthday
The Bedford County Chamber Foundation is beginning our third decade in 2021! Formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization to provide educational opportunities to students and adults of the Bedford County region, the Foundation will have graduated 20 classes of Leadership Bedford County and 16 classes of Youth Leadership through the spring of 2021.
The scope of the Foundation’s offerings has grown to include a wide array of BASICS programming as well (Businesses and Schools Investing in Cooperative Solutions). The Foundation Board has made it their mission to connect students and the business community in every grade level, Pre-K through twelfth grade, with an emphasis on career exploration and workforce development, as well as servant leadership and literacy initiatives.
The Chamber Foundation accepts donations through the state’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, allowing businesses to receive tax incentives while investing in local education. Learn more about the offerings of the Chamber (Education) Foundation on the Chamber website.

Holiday Lights Provide a Beacon of
Hope for Bedford County
The Chamber Foundation’s second annual Holiday Nights of Lights were a welcome sight, as families flocked to the Bedford County Fairgrounds for a safe and socially-distant celebration of the season.
More than one hundred businesses, organizations, clubs, school groups, churches and families participated in creating this special experience: a mile-long driving tour of beautiful Christmas lights, available for view on weekends and select weekdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Each sparkling vignette told its own story, celebrating industries like agriculture, manufacturing, and business services, as well as our faith community and youth programs.
“The Holiday Lights represent all our county has to offer,” said Chamber President-CEO Kellie Goodman Shaffer. “The vision, cooperation and expertise on display is a wonderful showcase of our businesses and our citizens – they all shine bright, but together are simply spectacular.”
The growth of the event, with more nights and more lights, is only possible through the cooperation of the Chamber, the Bedford County Fair Board and dozens of community leaders, volunteers and corporate sponsors. Proceeds benefit the educational programs of the Bedford County Chamber Foundation.
New displays are welcomed in 2021! Call the Chamber to save your spot for this new Bedford County holiday tradition.
