Situated on the banks of the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River, Everett offers a quiet riverside setting shaped by history and determination. Once known as Bloody Run – a name tied to early frontier days – the borough took its current name in the late 19th century.

This small community proudly claims two Medal of Honor recipients: Sergeant Ellis R. Weicht of World War II and Staff Sergeant Robert W. Hartsock of the Vietnam era. A bronze statue honoring both men was dedicated in 2023, standing as a lasting tribute.

The former railroad station, now home to the picturesque Everett Railroad Station Museum, is operated by the Bloody Run Historical Society, preserving stories of the area’s rail and early settlement days.

With a population of 2,150 people, Everett maintains a close-knit feel. Downtown bustles with everyday local life rather than tourist crowds. Victorian-era buildings line the streets, hardware stores, banks, cafés, and retail shops, and almost all of the storefronts are full, which is a point of pride in this rural Pennsylvania town.

Entrepreneurial spirit runs strong here. Business owners and the community actively plan ahead, pursuing grants, façade improvements, and enhancements to keep the borough vibrant for the future.

Tree-lined streets reveal well-kept homes with classic architecture, while Tenley Park – a 77-acre gem offers walking trails, playgrounds, an amphitheater, and pavilions for gatherings. Everett isn’t resting on its past; it is always looking forward, working through a strategic plan and potential Main Street Designation, which could provide access to grants for streetscapes, signage and additional façade grant and beautification funding.
